Koh Tao in Mid-October: Light Rain, Green Hills and Cozy Café Days 🌧️🌴
Thinking the rain means the island is off limits? Think again.
It is mid-October on Koh Tao, and right now the rain is light, the hills are bright green, and the island has a calm, slow feeling that is hard to find in high season. Fewer crowds, softer light, and plenty of good reasons to slow down with a great meal.
Here is your update from Sairee, plus how to make the most of a rainy day on Koh Tao.
The Island Right Now 🌿
Rainy season gives Koh Tao a whole different personality. The jungle turns lush and vivid. The beaches are quieter. Showers come and go, and when the sun breaks through, the whole island glows.
pack a light rain jacket, keep your plans flexible, and enjoy it. Some of our favourite days on the island are the grey and gentle ones.
Rainy Day Plan: Eat Well, Stay Dry ☔
The best rainy day plans start with food. Here is how to spend yours at Oasis Restaurant.
Start with a slow breakfast
There is no rush when the sky is soft and grey. Order a coffee and settle in with a Breakfast Set. The English Breakfast (290 baht) is a proper hearty start, and the Eggs Benedict (260 baht) with rich hollandaise is pure comfort on a drizzly morning. 🍳
Make the second floor your base
Our air-conditioned co-working space with WiFi on the second floor is a great spot to catch up on work, plan your next adventure, or just read a book while the rain passes. Stay as long as you like.
Lunch is for comfort food
Rainy days call for something warm and satisfying. Our handmade pasta is made fresh in-house daily, so it is a perfect cozy lunch. Wraps and bowls are great when you want something lighter.
Dinner means pizza night 🍕
Few things beat sharing a homemade pizza with friends while the rain taps on the roof. Melted cheese, crispy crust, and good company. Add a cocktail and call it a perfect evening.
Too Cozy to Leave? We Deliver 🛵
Sometimes the best plan is staying in. Order on WhatsApp and we will bring breakfast, lunch or dinner to your door. Delivery is available daily, with last orders at 11:30pm.
